Philanthropy

Service to others, whether in our community or on campus, is an integral part of Delta Zeta. Delta Zeta has national partnerships focused on speech and hearing-related causes with The Starkey Hearing Foundation, Gallaudet University and the House Research Institute. Delta Zeta helps The Painted Turtle's  achieve their mission of providing a year-round, life-changing environment and authentic camp experience for children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses through fundraising.

Turtle Tug â€‹â€‹

Turtle Tug is our annual spring philanthropy event. Many Greek and non-Greek organizations participate in a tug-of-war contest featuring a giant pool of over 100 gallons of green jello! 100% of the proceeds from this event go to support our national philanthropy, The Painted Turtle Camp. The  Painted Turtle's mission is to provide a life-changing environment and authentic camp experience for children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses.

Color Run 5K

Delta Zeta hosted their first Color Run 5K on campus at Wake Forest University this past September. All proceeds from this race benefit Delta Zeta's national philanthropies- The Painted Turtle Camp and Starkey Hearing Foundation.

Volleyball Tournament

Since the spring of 2009, Delta Zeta has joined Lambda Chi Alpha in hosting a Volleyball Tournament to benefit the Brian Piccolo Cancer Research Fund. Many Greek and non-Greek organizations around campus get involved and help raise money for a great cause.

Brian Piccolo Cancer Fund

The Brian Piccolo Cancer Fund Drive is recognized as the premiere charitable event of the year at Wake Forest. It was founded in1980 in memory of Brian Piccolo, a great Wake Forest athlete/alum and Chicago Bear football star.  It is unique in that it is totally student initiated and it mobilizes the entire campus community in a unified effort to raise monies for cancer treatment and research. Each year, Delta Zeta supports the Fund Drive by participating in Hit the Bricks in the fall and Wake 'n' Shake in the spring.

Learn to Listen Week

Delta Zeta nationally spreads awareness of noise induced hearing loss through Learn to Listen Week. This year Pi Delta helped spread the message by holding a "Hot Dogs for Hearing" North Campus Cookout.

External Philanthropy  â€‹â€‹
